Our favourite dinner came courtesy of Saishin, the rooftop omakase experience that began life as a pop-up, has settled in beautifully and grown bolder in both flavour and form.
Sushi and a view—what more could you ask for? Luckily, Saishin has both. One of New York’s elevated Japanese dining destinations, offering picturesque panoramic city views from the rooftop of Gansevoort Meatpacking, has a newly appointed executive chef, Isaac Kek, who presents a multi-course omakase tasting. Kek offers a delectable array of Asian dishes that focus on blending traditional and modern flavors. Each is paired perfectly with Saishin’s signature cocktail or house Sake.
For a next-level dining experience, head to Saishin, perched at the very top of the hotel. This omakase-style sushi haven is an absolute must for foodies, offering 14- or 19-course tasting menus curated by Executive Chef Isaac Kek.
Last but not least was Saishin, the rooftop sushi restaurant with a 14 to 19-course omakase menu created by executive chef Isaac Kek. “Through my global travels, from Japan to Europe, Southeast Asia to New York, I have taken influences from each place and infused their diverse flavors and textures into my menu," Kek said. "Keeping my dishes simple, and allowing the quality ingredients to speak for themselves, I take the foundations of Japanese cuisine and put my own innovative, unexpected spin."
Perched atop the rooftop of Gansevoort Meatpacking, you will discover the Japanese hotspot Saishin, which translates to “something new.” Beyond a cozy lobby bar, Saishin captures guests' attention right from the start, beginning with its spectacular views of the city. As soon as you enter the restaurant, get ready to be enchanted by the floor-to-ceiling windows surrounding the bar and dining area, showcasing the picturesque scenery of our city below.
Meaning “something new," the restaurant located inside the Gansevoort Hotel shakes things up as this omakase counter is paired with rooftop views that look out onto the city beyond.
